The Fastest Route To
Professional Barbering
Most barbering courses spend months on outdated techniques and unusable skills that leave you underprepared for real clients. Brazen Hair Academy is built differently, every session is hands-on, every week brings new skills, and by the time you graduate you've already worked on real people with real results.
Backed by Brazen Men's Hair, one of Edinburgh's highest-rated barbershops. This course gives you access to the same techniques, tools, and mentorship that built one of Scotland's most respected barbering brands. Evening classes mean you can keep your job or income while you train.

The Course
Breakdown
Most barbering courses spend months on theory and leave you underprepared for real clients. Brazen Hair Academy is built differently, every session is hands-on, every week brings new skills, and by the time you graduate you've already worked on real people with real results.
Phase 1 - Professional Foundations
(Weeks 1 - 2)
Students begin by building the professional standards expected in a modern barbershop.
This stage focuses on understanding the essential tools of the trade, hygiene practices, client consultations, and the core theory that underpins all haircutting techniques.
Live demonstrations introduce the fundamentals of sectioning and hair control, helping students understand how precision and structure are created in professional haircuts.
Phase 2 - Intensive Technical Development with Riccardo Basco
(Weeks 3)
This phase includes the 6-day intensive training block, where students focus on developing strong scissor control and a deeper understanding of haircutting theory.
Through guided demonstrations and focused practice, students begin learning how shape weight and structure influence the final result of a haircut. This intensive period helps accelerate technical development and builds a strong foundation for the practical training that follows.
Phase 3 - Fading & Clipper Work
(Week 4)
Students are introduced to the core clipper techniques used in modern barbering, learning how to combine scissor and clipper work to produce clean, balanced haircuts.
During this stage students begin transitioning from guided practice to more independent work, preparing them for the next phase where they will start working on live models.
Phase 4 - Supervised Live Model Training
(Weeks 5–11)
Students begin working on live models under supervision, gaining valuable real-world experience in consultation, execution, and finishing.
Through repeated hands-on sessions, students build speed, consistency, and confidence working with real clients.
Phase 5 - Final Preparation & Assessment
(Week 12)
No automatic pass. Eachan and Riccardo sign each student off personally.
By the end of the programme, students will have developed the technical ability, confidence, and practical experience needed to begin their journey as a professional barber.

Small Group Sizes
Maximum 6 students per cohort
Intentionally small groups mean you spend more time cutting and less time waiting. Every session includes direct instructor feedback tailored to your specific technique and development needs.
⚡ Why this matters: Large class barbering courses leave students cutting air. At Brazen, your hands are in hair from Week 5.
